To The Eastern Region:

I am honored and proud to have been elected and installed as the SAL National Vice Commander of the Eastern Region, for 2011-2012. It was a joy to see the Legion and Auxiliary members came to the Sons 40th National Convention and be a part of this joyous moment in my life. With all the support and respect shown me from The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and the Detachments of the Sons of The American Legion, one can only say “Thank you” from the bottom of my heart, for supporting me as I hold this high office.

A special Thank you to Past National Commander Cliff Smith, for your nominating speech and The Detachment of New Jersey for standing up as a Team, seconding the nomination.  It was truly a surprise and words cannot express how much this meant to me. Thank You!

To all of the Detachments in the Eastern Region, Thank you for your endorsements as well. Thank you goes out to the Detachments of Connecticut and Delaware,  for yelding the floor for the purpose of the nominations. I will do my best to make the Eastern Region proud !!

Now it’s time to get to work on all the programs within this great organization. The theme for this year is ”Get Back to Blue“ (Back to Basics). It is the Blue Cap members that make this great organization what it is today. To do that, National Commander Jim Roberts has outlined three areas we can work on to be successful, Communications, Commitment and Recognition.

National Commander Jim wants to be able to slow down a bit and concentrate on three simple things for Membership -  Renew, Recruit and Reinstate.
